Learn how Cleveland developed from a New England village to a metropolitan area with distinct neighborhoods and communities. This tour – focused on Downtown and its nearby neighborhoods – will explore how economics, technology, immigration, wars and political trends have shaped our city.

IMPORTANT INFO:
  • Where to meet: We will meet at Tri-C's Metro Campus outside of the Manufacturing Technology Center (2415 Woodland Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115). Do NOT be late - the tour cannot wait for latecomers!
     
  • Attire: Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes! Wearing Tri-C or Mandel Scholars Academy swag is encouraged. Bring an umbrella if rain is in the forecast.
     
  • Food: This event will include lunch, courtesy of the Mandel Humanities Center.
     
  • What to expect: This “history of Cleveland” tour will focus on the downtown area and nearby neighborhoods. We will be traveling to various sites around town – some times via a tour van and other times WALKING on foot. Please let the Mandel Center know if you have any accessibility needs we should plan for. It will be an active and engaging day!
